Privacy Policy
1. What the Calculators Do With Your Figures
This policy covers calorierule.com and is written under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation 2016/679).
The calculators need your weight, height, age, sex and activity level to work. JavaScript running in your own browser reads those values, puts them through the equation and shows the result; nothing is transmitted, because there is no program on the server side that could receive them. Close the tab and the figures are gone.
There is no account to create, no newsletter and no contact form, so the site holds no name or email address unless you choose to write to us.
2. Cookie Policy
The site loads two audience-measurement tools, a few seconds after each page has loaded. Both set cookies:
- Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Ltd): visit statistics (cookies
_gaand_ga_*, lifetime up to 13 months). - Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft Ireland Operations Ltd): page usability analysis (cookies
_clckand_clsk).
No advertising or social-media cookies are set. Calculator inputs (weight, height, age…) are processed in your browser and are never sent to these tools or to us. Preferences such as the unit system are kept in your browser's localStorage, which is not a cookie and never leaves your device.
You can block or delete cookies at any time in your browser settings.
3. Data Protection (GDPR)
3.1 Who Is Responsible
Radif Partners decides why and how the audience statistics described above are collected, and is the controller for them. Anything concerning that data can be sent to contact@calorierule.com.
No data protection officer has been appointed: visit statistics are not the large-scale processing that makes one mandatory under Article 37 of the GDPR.
3.2 What You Can Ask For
For the audience data, the GDPR lets you see what is held about you (Art. 15), have it corrected
(Art. 16) or deleted (Art. 17), limit its use (Art. 18), receive it in a reusable format (Art. 20) and
object to its processing (Art. 21). Those statistics are not linked to a name, so the quickest way
to stop them is to delete or block the _ga and _clck cookies in your browser.
Requests sent by email are answered within one month, the period set by Article 12. If the reply does not satisfy you, you can complain to the CNIL (www.cnil.fr) or to the data protection authority of the country where you live.
3.3 Where the Data Goes
GitHub, Google and Microsoft belong to groups headquartered in the United States, so data handled by their services may be processed there. The safeguards that apply are set out in the next section.
4. Third-Party Services
The following providers may process data on our behalf:
- GitHub, Inc. (GitHub Pages): hosting of the website (United States).
- Google Ireland Ltd: audience measurement (Google Analytics 4).
- Microsoft Ireland Operations Ltd: usability analysis (Microsoft Clarity).
Transfers to providers whose groups are based in the United States rely on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses and the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
